Principal's Message

Hello Pinacate Families,

My name is Ms. Deidra Johnson. I am pleased to introduce myself as the
proud, new principal of Pinacate Middle School. While I am new to the
Perris Union High School District, I am not new to K-12 education. I began
my education career over twenty three years ago as an elementary school
teacher in Moreno Valley. In 2015 I became an Assistant Principal and in
2018 I was promoted to Principal of Chaparral Hills Elementary School. I
believe that the success I had in my previous leadership roles have
prepared and equipped me to make a positive impact on the Pinacate
community. I am super excited to bring my educational and administrative
experience to Pinacate Middle School. As principal, I will ensure that
students receive relevant, rigorous, engaging instruction that prepares
them to meet and exceed expectations and prepares them for high school. I
will also focus on maintaining a safe and caring learning environment that
promotes student academic achievement and socio-emotional growth. Finally,
I will focus on building great relationships with students, staff, parents,
and the community.

Pinacate educators truly embrace a collaborative culture where highly
competent teams work together to increase student achievement by analyzing
student data and identifying student strengths and areas of growth. It is
our goal to provide all students with differentiated supports,
interventions, and enrichments to equip and motivate each student to
achieve at their personal best.

Pinacate Middle School offers a variety of academic and extracurricular
activities and opportunities for students to participate in. Students are
encouraged to get connected and get involved. Pinacate offers clubs,
sports, and other activities for every student. Students also have access
to Career in Technical Education (CTE) courses which introduce them to a
vast array of current, relevant career possibilities ranging from medical
science to computer programming and many more.

As the new principal, I look forward to getting to know Pinacate parents.
By developing strong parent partnerships, the academic and social
experience of Pinacate Middle School students will be enhanced. There are
numerous opportunities for parents to participate. Parents are invited to
have their voice heard by participating in our PELI (Parent Engagement
Leadership Initiative), ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee), SSC
(School Site Council), AAPAC (African American Parent Advisory Council),
PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association), or Pastries with the
Principals. Please check out our Parent Center for more information. Also,
feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

I am sure that by working together, we can make this year one to remember.
On behalf of the Awesome Pinacate staff, here's to a great 2022-2023 school
year. GO PUMAS!

Sincerely,

Deidra Johnson

Principal
