Hello and welcome to Functional Skills at Perris High School! This marks my 11th year teaching learners at the high school level and my 6th year at Perris High School. I sincerely love my role as teacher and the opportunity it provides to engage in meaningful interactions with students and their families. I hold a Master's degree in Education, as well as three teaching credentials which have greatly supported my ability to differentiate instruction across academic content areas to meet the needs of a wide variety of learners. As part of my teacher preparation experiences, I was fortunate enough to be mentored by pioneers of the Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) models for education, approaches which I consistently incorporate in the classroom.
I believe that students learn best in a safe, well-supported, fun classroom community with clearly defined, high expectations and access to a variety of engaging instructional strategies and technologies. I look forward to a productive year of learning and partnering with families and colleagues on behalf of our students during the 2022-23 school year. Go Panthers!
