Hi there! Welcome to the 2020/2021 School Year.
My name is Ms. Georgianna, but most students call me Ms. G. This is my 19th year at Perris High School. This is a second career for me - the one that I always aspired to become. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Southern Oregon University in 1991 and my Master of Arts in Education in 1999.
Currently, I teach four sections of ERWC (Expository Reading & Writing Curriculum), one section of AP Psychology, and one section of Journalism: Yearbook & Newspaper.
I've served in the teachers union, PSEA, for 12 years as a Site Rep, and am currently the First Vice President. I oversee the PAC Committee for PSEA and am the site lead for the newly formed Safety Committee.
Previously, I worked with Safe School Ambassadors as the site lead for six years and taught Conflict Resolution/ Peer Mediation to a class of students. I've also been an adviser with FNL early on in my career at PHS.
This year, I'll be teaching: ERWC (Expository Reading & Writing Curriculum. Grade 12, Year 2 of Pilot); AP Psychology; and, Journalism: Yearbook & Newspaper. You can get more information on my Canvas Landing page. I will be using Google Classroom though to deliver assignments, resources, and communiques. My syllabi will be in the materials section of each Google Classroom. The codes to join the class periods are posted on my Canvas page.
I'm looking forward to getting to know my students, even in this virtual environment. I'm excited about this unique year ahead of us. I know that we can meet this challenge and thrive. Go Panthers!
