My name is Hilda Elisa Avalos. I have been teaching Spanish within PUHSD since 2003. Before teaching high school, I taught Kindergarten for 5 years. I am currently teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 3.
I began my college career at MSJC earning an AA in Social and Behavioral Sciences; transferring to UC Riverside to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Spanish and Ethnic Studies and finally a Master's Degree in Cross-Cultural Education from National University.
I enjoy teaching my native language and culture, as well as learning from all of my students. I have been very fortunate to teach some of the most enthusiastic, dedicated and caring students. I look forward to this new school year and to meeting all of you. Teaching is who I am and I take great pride in my profession and being a part of my students' educational career.
During this school year, I will be using Google Classroom as the learning management system for Spanish 1 and Spanish 3. Once enrolled in Google Classroom, students will also be able to enroll in other educational resources.
