HELLO EVERYONE!    

     My name is Donald Cerchia and this marks my 15th year teaching music in the Perris Union High School District, all at Perris High School.  This year I am excited to be kicking off a new band program at Pinacate Middle School, and I look forward to bringing a music culture back to the school campus. 

     I received my BA in Music as well as my teaching credential from California State University Fullerton.  My main instrument is the clarinet, and I have been playing for 34 years, performing in the top performance groups at both CSUF and Riverside City College, studying under some of the best professional and studio clarinetists in Southern California.  I have performed numerous concerts in the Continental U.S., Hawaii, Tokyo Japan, and South Korea.  For many years, I played in the Moreno Valley Wind Symphony, a local community group.  I reside in Corona with my wife of 13 years and 2 boys, aged 10 and 4.  In my spare time, you can find me taking day trips with the family, attending Cub Scout Den Meetings with my son, jet skiing, playing darts, or repairing slot machines.  

     In my years at Perris High School, we have maintained award-winning Marching Band, Concert Band, Colorguard, and Percussion programs, as well as Beginning Band, and Piano classes.  Our bands have performed in both CSBC and SCSBOA circuits.  We have performed concerts in Avalon; Catalina Island, on the flight deck of the U.S.S. Midway, Seaport Village in San Diego Harbor, Medieval Times, and Knott's Berry Farm.  We also have performed in numerous community events and parades, school functions, and all the music programs have been featured in our annual Holiday and Spring Concerts.
